No Humans Before 11

I have a rule: No humans before 11 AM.

What this means is that I will not  schedule anything that involves  talking to, or interacting with anyone before 11 am. No appointments, meetings, lunches, nothing.

(If I can help it. And most of the time I can help it.)

I need the mornings to myself. I need to get my stuff done when I am fresh and energized and that time is from the time I get up (around 7) until 11 AM.  After that, all my good juju is gone and I find myself looking for stimulation and new ideas from other people, or books, or podcasts.

But lately I haven’t been making the best use of my 7 to 11 Golden Hours, and that has to change. I have to re-ignite a fire under this book  and get it done and self-published.

I need to be a finisher.

I know a lot of people just like me who start things but never finish them. I want to buck that trend.

There’s this rural joke:

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: To prove to the possum that it could be done.

That’s what I want to do. I want to finish and edit and select a self-publisher and get this thing in the rearview mirror.  I need to do it because I said I would, but also to  prove to the possum that it could be done.
