How To Get Ready For Your Second Vaccine

March 15, 2021March 15, 2021 ~ Kath Thompson ~ 1 Comment

I got my second Covid shot on Wednesday, March 10th. On Thursday the 11th, I woke up nauseous and dizzy, took 2 Tylenol and went back to bed.  Things proceeded to go downhill.  I slept a few hours, then woke up with body aches, fever, headache, nausea, and chills.  Wtf. Flu symptoms. I had to … Continue reading How To Get Ready For Your Second Vaccine

Clutter-Blind

March 9, 2021August 19, 2021 ~ Kath Thompson ~ Leave a comment

Back in the Before Times, people would stop by our house, or be invited. Maybe they would sit awhile, have a beverage, a snack, a meal. It depended.  Back in the Before Times I always made sure the downstairs bathroom, the one guests use, was presentable, you know, just in case.  Now, in these After … Continue reading Clutter-Blind

Yoga: The Gateway to Narnia

March 8, 2021 ~ Kath Thompson ~ Leave a comment

Stepping on a yoga mat sends a signal to your brain. And that signal is: Something very different is going to happen now.  Things are about to get way simpler. You’re gonna have to down-shift. It’s going to be all about your leg.  Or your shoulder.  Or some other spot you tend to ignore. It’s … Continue reading Yoga: The Gateway to Narnia

The Lure of Productivity Apps

March 5, 2021 ~ Kath Thompson ~ Leave a comment

I am entranced with productivity apps. On some unconscious level I think I want them to do my work for me. I also want them to be easy and intuitive to learn, which they all claim to be, but they’re all not. It’s not that I’m unwilling to invest some time learning them if the … Continue reading The Lure of Productivity Apps

My Brain On Biden

March 4, 2021March 4, 2021 ~ Kath Thompson ~ 2 Comments

Ever since Biden’s election, I feel my brain coming back on line. For the four years Trump was president all I could think about was the world, and him, and the crazy shit he was always doing and tweeting.  I read the newspapers voraciously. I followed all kinds of journalists and politicians on Twitter. I … Continue reading My Brain On Biden

Drinking Every Night Is Just Not Sustainable

March 3, 2021 ~ Kath Thompson ~ Leave a comment

At the beginning of the pandemic I was all about the Quarantini, —a cocktail you made at home and drank alone, or with members of your household, during a period of imposed isolation.  “I’m having a Quarantini,” sounded fun.  It made me feel this imposed isolation thing might not be that bad.  Soon, Photoshopped images … Continue reading Drinking Every Night Is Just Not Sustainable

What Happens When You Lose Your Yoga Practice

March 2, 2021 ~ Kath Thompson ~ 4 Comments

You ever lose a skill or an ability you once had?  For example: You go to the gym and find a weight you used to be able to lift, no problem, pick it up and find it’s now  impossible to hoist? Or that banjo lick you once played without even thinking, is now lost to … Continue reading What Happens When You Lose Your Yoga Practice

The Delusional Yoga Teacher Celebrates 17 Years

March 1, 2021 ~ Kath Thompson ~ 6 Comments

Today it is seventeen years since I opened Main Street Yoga.  I’m still as delusional now as I was back then. When I was fifty and delusional I thought I could become a yoga teacher and have a little studio.  And I did.  And now I’m questioning whether it’s delusional to think that at my … Continue reading The Delusional Yoga Teacher Celebrates 17 Years

January has five Mondays. You've only missed one. Let's do this. https://main-street-yoga.heymarvelous.com/calendar
We picked our words! Mine is MUSCLE and G’s is VIGOR. Look out 2023, here we come!
You don't do yoga for you. You do it for your kids, your parents, your co-workers, your partner---everyone you connect with during your day. Everything goes better when you're calm and present. You know it's true. So, do it for them. Every Tuesday, there's a Gentle Yoga class at 5:30. So why don't you stop. Breathe. And take an hour to remember what's truly important. https://main-street-yoga.heymarvelous.com/calendar
November 30: Let's end this month with a practice you could do everyday, it's that wonderful. Bookmark this one. Memorize it, and make it your own. If you've been playing along all month, congrats! You completed thirty days of yoga. Now keep the streak going!
