It Was Such A Good Week

Emily is on her way home to Portland as I write this.

This was her first time back to Mansfield in 16 years.

We talked, walked, and traveled to Ithaca.

We had countless meals. We drank our morning coffees together while writing and scrolling through our devices.

We saw people—people she knew from high school, as well as my friends.

She attended my Gentle Yoga class and met many of my yoga friends.

We did the Solstice bike ride through the canyon and had root beer floats at the finish.

We walked through quiet paths lined with mountain laurel, alive with the thrush’s song.

Stella adopted her and became her special friend.

Rookie blew her eardrums out in the car.

We went thrifting. She walked through her old elementary school.

It wasn’t enough.

But it was.

There is so much to reflect on and digest about this week, but it’s very late now, and I’m tired, so I’ll process these thoughts this week and write more next week.

But I am so very happy!

Bisous!
